The Opportunity

As a Bank Business Process Consultant Senior you will apply advanced knowledge of bank processes and products and acts as a trusted advisor by providing consultation services to internal clients in areas of strategic sourcing, alternatives and solutions, supplier management, affiliate agreement adherence, third party risk management, and bank operations. Collect and consolidate demand and identify opportunities, within the Bank. Execute and oversee the development of business process related solutions for internal clients and members. Evaluate processes/ resources and develops effective solutions/ improvements/ enhancements to drive the efficient operation of the Bank utilizing Agile best practices.


What you'll do:

  • Engage with key stakeholders to implement sustainable strategic solutions.
  • Develops business process enhancements for the Bank that aligns business deliverables, bank strategy and risk management framework.
  • Lead planning and execution efforts and coordinates activities for highly complex projects.
  • Apply a holistic understanding of risk and regulatory compliance to manage risks by using established methodologies, including Agile principles, and exercising control plans to ensure alignment with bank specific goals and process requirements.
  • Provide consultation to influence and ensure process is designed to address risk across all activities.
  • Revise and develop communication and change management plans for customers and internal stakeholders to drive awareness on current processes and/or changes.
  • Ensure alignment between internal stakeholders and customers across all business process projects and services using proactive communication and engagement strategies.
  • Utilize data and analytics to deliver insight into customer and business process performance, identifying opportunities to influence customer and business process activities and inform key stakeholders.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.



What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 6 years of experience in business process consulting, process design and/or program/project management.
  • Advanced knowledge of bank products and processes.
  • Experience in implementing and sustaining change/improvements.
  • Experience in applying quality management, process improvement, and leveraging process improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Experience applying retail bank subject matter expertise to simplify the customer experience, standardize process execution, and automate where possible.
  • Expert experience/ knowledge of Risk Management frameworks and Banking Regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and/or evaluation of business processes.

  • Experience in quality governance, risk management, and operational oversight, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership through data-driven insights, executive reporting, and strategic recommendations. 
  • Experience with optimization of AI-enabled solutions, including evaluation design, model validation, performance governance, change management, and/or business value realization.
  • Demonstrated success supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives by partnering with business, operations, technology, risk, and compliance stakeholders to drive alignment, resolve challenges, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Strong leadership capability in developing and evolving quality strategies, policies, and operating models, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and emerging industry best practices. 
  • Experience leading or supporting large-scale transformation, platform implementation, or process modernization efforts, including UAT governance, operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, and post-implementation optimization. 
  • Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify emerging risks, anticipate operational impacts, and recommend proactive actions that improve performance, controls, and employee effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, balancing business objectives, risk considerations, regulatory expectations, and customer experience priorities in decision-making.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and influencing teams across multiple functions while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
