Q: What makes Claims challenging but deeply meaningful work?
A: "While claims can be challenging, ultimately for those of us that are in claims, it's about being there for our members when they need us...Claims professionals get to help people during really difficult times, assisting them and recovering from losses and rebuilding their lives. There really is a sense of purpose and the ability to make a positive impact is such a rewarding part of the job."
Q: What do people not realize about working in Claims?
A: "Most people don't realize how rewarding working in claims can be. Claims is fast-paced, and the ever-changing nature of the job requires problem solving, and can be really stretching. You are constantly learning and problem solving, and with each new claim that's presented, there's a unique set of challenges and it fosters personal and professional growth."
Q: How does USAA make you feel like you're part of something bigger than just a job?
A: "Every objective that we have always ties back to the mission. It's bigger than me or any individual here. It's about those who we serve, and so when you think about that, it really is bigger than just the individual job or the person."
Q: What does belonging look like for you within your claims team?
A: "I think regardless of the work that anyone does, you want to feel like your work has value, purpose, and meaning. And that's exactly how I feel about working here at USAA. When you support the military community, the work that you do has tremendous value and impact, and the support that I receive from leadership and teammates makes me feel like what I'm doing makes a big difference."
