The Opportunity
The Leadership Development Facilitator (Mid-level) facilitates leadership development experiences that build leadership capability, strengthen business outcomes, and deepen connection to USAA's mission and the military community we serve. Delivers instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning experiences designed to strengthen leadership effectiveness for primarily individual contributors and emerging leaders. Uses facilitation, coaching, and learning practices to create engaging learning environments that promote learning transfer and behavior change.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Facilitate leadership development experiences in classroom, virtual, and blended learning environments for individual contributors, leaders of self, and emerging leader populations.
- Apply facilitation, coaching, and various professional learning practices to create engaging and supportive learning environments that promote participation and growth.
- Utilize coaching and inquiry techniques to drive reflection, self-awareness, accountability, and application of leadership concepts.
- Support learning transfer by helping participants connect leadership development experiences to workplace application and behavior change.
- Adapt facilitation approaches based on learner needs, audience participation, and group dynamics to maximize learning effectiveness.
- Partner with Talent Advisors, facilitators, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful leadership development experiences aligned to organizational priorities.
- Incorporate business context, leadership expectations, military acumen, and member-centered perspectives into learning experiences to increase relevance and impact.
- Participate in facilitator certification, observation, and development activities to continuously strengthen facilitation effectiveness and leadership development capability.
- Support evaluation and continuous improvement efforts through participant feedback, facilitator observations, and learning outcomes data.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 4 years experience facilitating training, workshops, learning experiences, team discussions, or professional development programs.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate engaging discussions and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including executive management.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, teaching, onboarding, or developing employees.
- Understanding of leadership principles, professional learning practices, and learner engagement techniques.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and foster collaboration across diverse groups.
- Ability to adapt facilitation approaches based on audience needs and group dynamics.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with team collaboration and meeting tools (Slack, Zoom and/or MS Teams)
What sets you apart:
- Experience facilitating leadership development within Professional Military Education (PME), military academies, ROTC programs, senior military colleges, or other military-affiliated leadership development environments.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $69,920 - $133,620.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
