The Opportunity
As a dedicated MSR Asset Management Analyst Senior, you will Manage Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) asset valuation and the hedging activities related to the firm's MSR and maintain and validate MSR valuation models and assumptions. Partner with the Mortgage Trade Desk and Mortgage Servicing Rights management teams to deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis for hedging and valuation decisions. Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to the mortgage and banking industry. Support and participate in transaction management of the MSR asset, including both co-issue and bulk MSR sales and acquisitions.
What you'll do:
- Independently perform analysis and modeling of MSR cash flows, prepayment rates, and interest rate scenarios; may adjust assumptions to maintain fair value with changing market conditions.
- Manage the valuation of new MSR volume (through both originations and acquisitions), MSR capitalization pricing grids and the existing MSR asset.
- Synthesize analyses, identifies root cause, communicates findings, and recommends solutions.
- Develop, design, and validate models and assumptions for MSR valuation for market comparison and ensures daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly MSR asset and hedge valuations are distributed and leveraged.
- Serve in an advisory capacity to Mortgage Capital Markets leadership to deliver analysis, assumptions, and position attribution.
- Produce intuitive and insightful presentations for leaders, committee meetings, and other governance forums.
- Assemble key participants and guides and facilitates teams in the development and implementation of key initiatives to continually enhance analytical and operational infrastructure relating to the MSR valuation, risk metrics, and reporting.
- Assist with end-to-end processes and executes strategic initiatives including the sale and/or purchase of MSRs.
- Partner with third party vendors to support the MSR asset as needed.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 5 years of experience in capital markets, finance, pricing, financial services, banking, or mortgage.
- 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: mortgage capital markets, MSR asset management, transaction management, interest rate risk management and hedging or similar role in mortgage banking, investment banking, or a capital market environment.
- 4 years of quantitative, statistical, or financial analysis experience.Experience with data and cash flow modeling.Experience with data and cash flow modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of federal mortgage lending regulations and compliance and how they are applied within the business, its products and processes.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of financial markets, Interest Rate/Price risks, and Secondary Mortgage Markets.
- Advanced knowledge of MSR valuation principles, the use of models to arrive at valuation, and risk metrics.
- Advanced understanding of the assumptions underlying MSR value, risks, and cash flows.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770 - $179,240.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
