The Opportunity

As a dedicated Senior Investment Analyst, you are responsible for providing analytical and operational expertise to support USAA's investment management process. You conduct research and statistical analyses of investment portfolios, including asset allocation modeling and benchmarking, to support the enterprise's investment portfolios. You deliver forecasting, planning, and reporting functions for the enterprise and create investment management reports and presentations for business leaders.

You are responsible for supporting Second Line of Defense (SLOD) and Third Line of Defense (TLOD) data requests related to investment management activities, including audits. Additionally, you manage Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), maintain the risk control inventory, and develop and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Reconciling returns by asset manager, asset class and resolving discrepancies.

You ensure all analyses and reports are delivered on schedule to meet stakeholder needs while maintaining processes that are efficient, automated, and scalable.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Applies advanced knowledge to conduct extensive research and statistical analysis of USAA investment portfolios.

  • Completes complex ad hoc and recurring analysis, research market trends and compile data.

  • Discusses concerns and make recommendations that influence investment modifications.

  • Prepares other ad hoc reporting as required by internal or external stakeholders and reconcile results consistent with fund/or strategy objectives.

  • Creates reports and presentations for investment portfolios that include portfolio performance, risk, and attribution.

  • Coordinates and conducts meetings and presentations with Senior Leaders within Portfolio Management, Investment Strategy, Trading, Research and all levels of staff within Compliance, Legal, Risk and/or back-office Operations.

  • Manages client relationships and assists in business development.

  • Advises on compliance initiatives to update new requirements on USAA technical systems and manage compliance templates to align with policy and regulatory constraints.

  • Stays informed of industry initiatives and trends that may impact portfolio analytics.

  • Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.

  • Applies advanced knowledge to assist team members with the onboarding of new asset managers, to include coordinating efforts with stakeholders

  • Lead team members in the preparation of investment presentations.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.

  • 6 years of experience in financial analysis within the investment industry or related financial services industry.

  • 2 years of performance measurement.

  • Advanced knowledge and application of fixed income, equity and/or alternative asset classes.

  • Knowledge and application of applicable regulatory and compliance laws and regulations.

  • Ability to communicate complex information to analysts, management and operations teams.

  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with tools for data gathering and reporting.

  • Proficiency with analytical toolsets.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
