The Opportunity
This executive role leads the end‑to‑end strategy for driving credit card balance growth, optimizing pricing decisions, and delivering accurate, insight‑driven forecasting that informs enterprise financial plans. The position is responsible for shaping and executing growth strategies across the customer lifecycle; owning APR, fee, and promotional pricing frameworks; and developing forecasting models that incorporate portfolio trends, macroeconomic conditions, and competitive dynamics. Success in this role requires deep cross‑functional partnership with Marketing, Risk, Finance, Legal, and Analytics to align decisions with profitability, compliance, and customer experience goals. The executive will serve as a key voice in senior leadership forums, guiding strategic portfolio decisions, monitoring performance against targets, and ensuring timely course corrections. Additionally, the role provides leadership and direction to a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, innovation, and customer‑centric strategy execution.
This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Growth Management
Lead the strategy to drive credit card balance growth, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Develop and execute growth plans across usage, line management, and retention.
Identify new growth opportunities through market analysis, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.
Set short‑ and long‑term balance growth goals and monitor progress against financial targets.
2. Pricing Strategy & Profitability Management
Own end‑to‑endpricing strategy, including APRs, fees, promotions, and product pricing frameworks.
Evaluate pricing implications on revenue, risk, customer experience, and competitiveness.
Partner with Risk, Finance, and Legal to ensure pricing decisions are compliant, profitable, and market‑relevant.
Oversee test‑and‑learn pricing initiatives, promotional offers, and elasticity modeling.
3. Forecasting, Financial Planning & Performance Analytics
Lead the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual card spend, balance and revenue forecasts.
Build and manage forecasting models incorporating economic trends, portfolio performance, and behavioral insights.
Present results and forward‑looking projections to executive leadership and governance committees.
Monitor performance against plan, diagnose variances, and implement course‑correction strategies.
4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Governance
Work closely with Marketing, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Analytics to drive cohesive decision‑making.
Influence product, acquisition, credit line, and customer engagement strategies through data‑driven recommendations.
Support regulatory, audit, and compliance reviews related to pricing and balance management.
Represent the business in senior‑level forums, steering committees, and enterprise planning cycles.
5. Portfolio Optimization & Customer Lifecycle Management
Oversee strategies related to line assignments, credit limit increases, retention, and balance growth programs.
Optimize lifecycle treatments to improve utilization, reduce attrition, and enhance customer value.
Monitor competitive and macroeconomic trends to adjust portfolio strategies proactively.
6. Leadership, Team Management & Organizational Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product managers, analysts, and strategists.
Promote a culture of analytical excellence, strategic thinking, and customer-centric innovation.
Ensure organizational readiness for future growth, including tools, processes, and talent capabilities.
Tasks:
Manages the P&L and supports efforts to ensure business plan expectations are achieved with a focus on growing Membership and driving profitability.
Reviews and manages the product set (feature/functionality) for appropriateness of financials, marketing strategy, market competitiveness, Member Experience, regulatory compliance, risk management, as well as efficiency of operation and technology delivery.
Accountable for ensuring applicable regulations related to product line of business are adhered to and associated risks are mitigated.

Develops talent to deliver risk-conscious performance and results – including the identification, development and retention of talent with requisite capabilities, banking regulatory skill requirements and continued advancement of banking regulatory standards.
Partners with General Manager to develop and provides product performance reporting to senior management that is inclusive of USAA’s performance as well as industry benchmark data.
Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver an industry leading product offering that drives strong profitability growth across USAA.
Optimizes product mix, leveraging segmentation to drive profit, Member satisfaction, and retention.
Manages plan for growing products through the creation and implementation of an effective segmentation strategy, including product profitability, service standards, and lifecycle management.
Holds responsibility for communicating the product value proposition to Distribution organization.
Ensures product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).
Manages 3rd Party Relationships (IT, 3rd products, and alliances).
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
10 years of relevant experience as a Product Management, Digital Transformation, Data Science or Visualization leader for products/platforms, from strategy to market, to ongoing improvements within the Financial Services industry.
4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
Understanding of product P&L and high level of fluency in MV (member value) and ROI drivers; demonstrated track record in balancing product priorities against budget and timelines; a sense of urgency in driving execution; entrepreneurial spirit and excitement of developing products from an early stage.
Highly analytical with experience leveraging different types of data to form hypotheses, test those hypotheses and ultimately build a recommended strategy.
Strong strategic thinker with track record of developing and implementing strategies that thoughtfully consider and balance industry and competitive dynamics, customer insights and commercial implications.
Comfort with ambiguity and a rapidly changing dynamic environment; thrives in fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to influence without authority, working on/with technical and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams who do not report into this role to get things done.
Understanding and demonstrated application of Agile methodology.
What sets you apart:
Direct experience in credit card portfolio management, credit card existing customer management, forecasting, credit risk strategy, and/or revenue optimization.
Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Analytics/Finance, or similar).
Hands-on experience designing and managing marketing, pricing tests, sensitivity analyses, or behavioral modeling.
Experience working in highly regulated environments, with strong understanding of compliance and fair lending considerations.
Prior team‑lead or people‑management experience.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $169,880-$305,780.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
