The Opportunity
As a Talent Acquisition Partner (Mid-Level) on the University Relations/Early Talent team, you will be instrumental in building and nurturing relationships with hiring leaders, prospective candidates, and peer partners to fulfill USAA's early talent objectives. A key aspect of this role is serving as the Internship Program Manager, where you'll lead all aspects of the development and execution of USAA's internship program. You will also develop and recommend innovative recruiting strategies to proactively identify and cultivate a diverse pipeline of talent for open positions.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.
This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Cultivates University & Community Partnerships for Early Talent & Interns: Identifies and builds partnerships with universities, student organizations, and relevant community groups to generate candidates for early career roles and internship programs, aligning with the organization's hiring and program objectives.
Develops & Implements Targeted Sourcing Strategies: Develops and implements creative sourcing strategies specifically crafted to proactively identify early career candidates (students, recent graduates, etc.) and assemble a solid pipeline of talent for entry-level positions and internship programs.
Manages Full Life Cycle Early Talent & Internship Recruiting: Performs full life cycle recruiting for early talent roles and internships, using a variety of recruitment methods tailored to attract students and recent graduates (e.g., virtual events, campus visits, social media campaigns, targeted internship postings).
Partners to Build Diverse Early Talent & Internship Networks: Partners with internal and external partners to establish university and community networks and relationships in support of our military, diversity, and college hiring requirements with minimal direction, with a focus on attracting a diverse pool of early talent and internship candidates.
Maintains Candidate Communication & Compliance: Follows up and follows through on all submitted candidates (both full-time and internship applicants) in a timely manner, ensures the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) is kept up to date in real-time, and maintains compliance with all Federal, State, and Regulatory requirements.
Crafts Compelling Job & Internship Postings: Using defined job descriptions, develops compelling job posting descriptions to attract early career talent and internship applicants, striving to differentiate USAA from its competitors.
Provides High-Touch Candidate Communication: Keeps candidates continually advised with high-touch communication throughout the entire hiring process, ensuring a positive candidate experience for both full-time and internship applicants.
Negotiates Early Talent & Intern Offers: Negotiates salary/stipend offers per job requisition or internship program guidelines within the approved range, maintaining a fiduciary responsibility to the company.
Forecasts & Leads Early Talent & Internship Pool Development: Forecasts and leads early talent and internship pool size to fulfill workforce plans and hiring objectives.
Collaborates to Maintain Compliance: Collaborates with hiring managers and/or coworkers through the recruiting processes to maintain compliance within external and internal regulatory agencies, ensuring fair and equitable practices for both full-time and internship hiring.
Builds Targeted Candidate Pools: Builds candidate pools to meet hiring requirements by using technical expertise to identify sourcing and networking strategies and tools specifically for early career and internship candidates.
Consults on Hiring Needs: Consults with hiring leaders and internal partners to proactively identify strategies to understand business requirements and meet hiring requirements for both early talent roles and internship programs.
Serves as a Resource to Team Members: Serves as a resource to team members, particularly on early talent and internship recruitment best practices.
Applies HR & Employment Law Knowledge: Applies knowledge of relevant human resources discipline(s), specifically employment law, policy, and procedures as they relate to early talent and internship programs.
Manages Recruitment Risks: Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- 4 years of progressive work experience in staffing, general human resources, and/or account relationship management, to include knowledge of applicable employment laws.
- Demonstrates understanding of recruiting methods and best practices.
- Knowledge of applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of effective screening and interviewing techniques.
- Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products and other software to support sourcing tools and techniques.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $85,040.00 - $162,550.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
