The Opportunity

The Director, Product Management will oversee the successful delivery of new products within our organization. This pivotal role requires a leader who can maintain momentum for new product development while providing comprehensive oversight for the Consumer Lending ART. The ideal candidate will ensure that priorities are clearly defined, implementation plans are robust, and all risks and issues are proactively managed and resolved. This individual will be instrumental in aligning the efforts of distinct team areas to achieve overarching business objectives and drive the successful delivery of the ART's strategic goals.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for communicating and promoting the product value proposition to Distribution organization.

  • Ensure product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).

  • Develop new products or sales offerings and enhanced features/services to existing products or sales offerings

  • Lead research, analyze and evaluate performance metrics to drive recommendations for market opportunities or product enhancements 

  • Leverage resources to gather data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and acquire competitive intelligence.

  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders to develop communications for product and pricing strategies to key stakeholders and committees within the respective Company or Staff Agency and the enterprise. 

  • Build and oversee a team of employees for assigned functional areas through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.

  • Interpret performance results to inform product or sales forecast and planning. ​

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Distribution or Sales/Service or Finance/Accounting Operations or Financial Services.

  • Minimum 4 years’ product management, or similar strategic management experience (similar experience includes direct support in managing product performance).

  • Minimum 3 years’ direct team lead or management experience.

  • Minimum 3 years’ data visualization experience (i.e. Tableau).

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (i.e. FDIC, CFPB, OCC).

  • Experience Owning, Forecasting, and Managing a Product P&L.

  • Experienced in market research to create product roadmap, make product decisions and iterate rapidly.

  • Expert knowledge of applicable product related regulations and, risk and compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: TILA/REG Z, REG E, REG B, UDAAP/UDAP, FCRA. ​

What sets you apart:

  • Deep working knowledge of CLOE and ALS Systems: Proven experience supporting, evolving, and leveraging CLOE and ALS (Automatic Lending Solutions) platforms to enable business outcomes.

  • Consumer Lending Product Expertise: Knowledge of all consumer lending products, including auto loans, personal loans, and recreational loans.

  • Digital Lending Exposure: Working knowledge of digital lending principles and processes, even without direct experience.

  • Digital Customer-Facing Product Development Exposure: Experience or exposure to the development of digital products designed for customer interaction.

  • Portfolio Planning / Priority Roadmap: Experience with portfolio planning and priority planning, including gaining alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Strong partnership with Technology delivery teams: Experience working closely with Technology leaders and Agile teams to plan roadmaps, refine requirements, and drive coordinated delivery of system capabilities.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310.00 - $243,341.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
