The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director of Liquidity Management to lead and mentor a high-performing team dedicated to enhancing our capital and liquidity management programs. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in liquidity management across P&C Insurance, Life Insurance, or Banking. The ideal candidate will influence capital strategies by leveraging deep industry knowledge, navigating regulatory frameworks, and collaborating with entities like the Federal Reserve. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is essential, along with a proven track record in crafting liquidity policies and contingency funding plans to drive our financial initiatives forward.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, or, Charlotte, NC

What you'll do:
- Directs staff and initiatives that support capital and liquidity management programs, including strategies, tools and methodologies to model, measure, monitor and assess capital and liquidity adequacy across the enterprise including insurance, investment and banking subsidiaries.
- Coordinates capital and liquidity policies and comprehensive capital plans and contingency funding plans.
- Builds a high performing team of capital and liquidity management professionals through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management and related managerial activities.
- Balance sheet analysis integrating capital, liquidity, cash and investment strategies.
- Responsible for efficient deployment of capital and liquidity across the enterprise, including insurance, investment and banking subsidiaries, to meet multiple regulatory, rating agency and internal management objectives.
- Responsible for efficient management of cash positions for the enterprise, insurance, investment and banking lines of business.
- Leads intercompany capital transactions and member distribution strategies.
- Advises key partners, including senior management, on capital and liquidity risk management issues, including the development and reporting of risk metrics, appetites and triggers to ensure comprehensive management of capital and liquidity risks according to industry standard processes.
- Manages and leads Treasury initiatives in Dodd Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) and enterprise stress test planning and execution.
- Supervises the evaluation of stress scenario results and establishment of contingency plans in partnership with key business partners for reporting to senior management, governance committees, and the respective boards of directors.
- Evaluates stress scenario impacts to the USAA Consolidated/P&C/Bank/Life Capital Plans and Contingency Funding Plans and associated capital and liquidity metrics for reporting to senior management, governance committees, and the respective boards of directors.
- Leads all aspects of the preparation and communication of key capital and liquidity plans, metrics, analysis and reports to governance committees, senior management, regulatory bodies and the USAA Board of Directors.
- Serves as a point of contact for senior CFO leadership on projects and special management requests that impact the enterprise and its capital and liquidity positions.
- Serves as primary management delegate for ED, Capital and Liquidity Management.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 years of related experience in Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, Capital and Liquidity Management and/or Accounting.
- 3 or more years of direct team lead or management experience required.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to effectively influence and build cross functional relationships with employees of various levels, including senior management, throughout the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and present executive level presentations.
- Ability to effectively work with both internal and external partners.
What sets you apart:

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320 - $273,930.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
