The Opportunity

As a dedicated Director, Bank Business Change Management, you will lead and continuously develop a team of Change Advisors as well as be accountable for the Bank’s Change Management Program ; enable USAA to effectively mitigate risks related to change and to achieve its strategic objectives through effective collaboration and the consistent application of change management methodology, expertise and experience.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Leads a cross functional team of Organizational Change and readiness employees and Bank wide Change Management governance and oversight program.

  • Responsible for monitoring and driving program adherence and effective quality in execution for change team and business leaders on change program.

  • Develops and integrates Change Strategy and reporting for a portfolio of change.

  • Drives team to continuously evaluate, refine and implement appropriate change management strategies, tools, and processes to improve user experience & proficiency to minimize risk when introducing change.

  • Ensures suitability and sustainability of change management program through monitoring, assessment, feedback routines, and appropriate plans of action, as appropriate.

  • Develops and sustains key relationships and brand for change team.

  • Coaches and influences roles within or complimentary to the change program to lead change in a highly matrixed organization. Helps develop organizational change capability.

  • Builds and is responsible for a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, mentor and support, performance management, and managerial activities.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years of directly related experience such as organizational change management, communication, interpersonal behavior, marketing, human resources and/or, project delivery and accountability for sophisticated tasks and/or projects; OR if Advanced Degree, 6 years of related experience, as previously referenced.

  • 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with change management principles and methodologies. 

  • Extensive experience working with senior leaders on major change initiatives with significant impact.

  • Extensive experience with influencing, applying emotional intelligence, interpersonal savvy & politics and partnering for client’s success; matrix management, decision making and critical thinking, producing results, consulting engagement management, overcoming resistance to change.

  • Experience driving/leading change initiatives for large transformations, mentoring and influencing business leaders, setting change strategies/plans and implementing them successfully.

  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies delivery and principles.

  • Advanced knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
