The Opportunity
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
The candidate selected for this position will be joining the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Team in Bank Financial Crimes (BFC). In this capacity, the candidate will be working with various Fraud Management and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) technologies, validating that (1) new features work as expected and consistent with the business acceptance criteria, and (2) the application’s existing functionality has not regressed. UAT will assume both the role of the member as well as the role of internal employees supporting BFC – thus validating both member experience with financial crime mitigation technologies as well as employee experience in case management systems.
Responsible for executing software testing for USAA's programs and/or systems that support product performance and business operations. Plans, crafts and executes tests for release cycles. Reports defects during the testing, troubleshooting and analysis cycle that will result in quality testing. Works in collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver timely feedback and ensure quality product and systems’ performance. May perform regression testing and/or compliance review testing of processes affected by system improvements and Program Releases. Ensures all activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
What you’ll do:
Leads the testing program for assigned area of expertise to schedule and implement specific test activities that upgrade systems to align with business objectives and compliance/regulatory requirements.
Serves as a subject matter expert for projects related to UAT including automation, IT projects, or product development initiatives.
May draft policies, coordinate approvals, and maintain policies for infrastructure and software testing activities.
Develops acceptance test plan to meet requirements of business and conducts regular quality assurance audits of system testing process.
Participates in and may coordinate the release of testing scenarios.
Acts as a liaison and primary point of contact to technical resources.
Monitors the progress of all phases of UAT; Analyzes test results and ensures all applicable testing is completed prior to any releases.
Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues and shares knowledge with team members.
Collaborates with IT partners to develop testing methodology, procedures and guidelines for current and future projects.
Provides updates to management on team testing activities and results. Provides insights on effectiveness of testing, sets expectations and makes applicable recommendations.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree (10 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
6 years of relevant business applications and business support experience, to include software or quality assurance testing experience, within a financial services organization.
Working experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) methodologies within agile projects.
Ability to communicate and effectively write testing rules, standards and scripts.
Foundational knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and project system of record applications.
Proficient in Banking products and services.
Strong foundational knowledge of U.S. banking laws and regulations.
What sets you apart:
UAT experience at USAA, preferably in Bank or an Enterprise/Association-level role.
Experience with IT testing – System Testing, Integration Testing, and/or End-to-End Testing.
Experience working in the Agile SDLC framework.

What we offer:
Compensation: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $186,210.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
