Join the Movement to End Veteran Suicide. Face the Fight, a coalition founded by USAA and supported by leading organizations, is seeking a strategic leader to drive our mission forward as a Corporate Impact Principal. You'll spearhead efforts in strategic planning, fundraising, and external relations, propelling Face the Fight toward long-term sustainability and growth. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and a passion for creating meaningful impact, you'll help break the stigmas surrounding suicide in the military community. This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with the requirement of a minimum of 30% business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.
What you'll do:
- Develops and executes a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve ambitious financial goals for designated Corporate Impact initiatives.
- Identifies, cultivates, and solicits major gifts from corporations, foundations, and individual donors, with a particular focus on securing partnerships with CEOs and other high-level executives.
- Serves as a primary point of contact and relationship manager for key donors and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and stewardship.
- Represents USAA and its Corporate Impact initiatives at industry events, conferences, and meetings, effectively communicating the initiative's mission, impact, and value proposition.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including USAA leadership, marketing and communications teams, and program staff, to ensure alignment and maximize fundraising effectiveness.
- Collaborates with internal teams to integrate partnership activities into the overall Corporate Impact strategy.
- Conducts in-depth research on prospective donors and partners, understanding their philanthropic interests and identifying opportunities for alignment with USAA’s corporate responsibility goals.
- Prepares compelling proposals, presentations, and reports to communicate the impact of USAA’s Corporate Impact initiatives and the value of investment.
- Stays abreast of trends and best practices in fundraising, philanthropy, and veteran support.
- Manages a portfolio of high-value relationships, ensuring regular communication and personalized engagement strategies.
- Tracks and analyzes fundraising performance, and monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of partnership programs, providing regular reports and recommendations to USAA leadership to optimize results.
- Stays informed about the latest research, trends, and best practices in Corporate Social Responsibility to inform strategies and initiatives.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 10 years of progressive experience managing corporate social impact initiatives to include 6 years of experience in fundraising, development, or external relations, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and partnerships and leading large-scale enterprise programs and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
- 8 years of demonstrated experience working with and influencing C-suite executives and other high-level stakeholders.
- Expert-level understanding of the philanthropic landscape, including emerging trends and fundraising best practices.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling vision for corporate social impact and inspire diverse audiences, including executive leadership, donors, partners and employees.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to develop and implement innovative and data-driven corporate social impact strategies that align with business objectives and generate measurable social and environmental impact.
- Expert proficiency in CRM software and other fundraising tools. Experience leveraging technology to optimize fundraising performance, track key metrics, and generate insightful reports.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in military affairs.
- Passion for supporting veterans and a commitment to the mission of "Face the Fight."
What sets you apart:
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
- 10 or more years of experience in fundraising, development, or external relations, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and partnerships and leading large-scale enterprise programs and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
- Experience working with veteran-focused organizations or initiatives.
- Existing network of contacts within the corporate and philanthropic sectors.
- Knowledge of military culture and the challenges faced by veterans.
- Graduation from a military academy or significant military service.
- Experience working with military or veteran organizations.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $164,780 - $314,960.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
