The Opportunity

As a dedicated AVP (Executive), Member Insight, you will partner with key stakeholders on the definition, prioritization and delivery of key member insights research; engage with research professionals to create an environment where every employee can achieve their potential; and continues to lead the development of leading-edge research/ insights capabilities. Enhances USAAs action planning to help USAA win in the market, serve and retain more members. This will require strategic partnerships with each LOB/function served, careful resource management and capacity planning to deliver in an environment with multiple priorities and limited resources.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Serves as thought leader and unbiased member advocate to provide the customer viewpoint, supported with insight driven evidence to influence business planning.

  • Applies an “outside in” perspective, defines areas of opportunity and guides the process of developing insight strategies, defines objectives, challenges basic assumptions, and makes strategic and operational recommendations.

  • Creates and maintains strategic partnerships across the enterprise.

  • Influences the adoption of member engagement strategies via effective use of member insights and analytics.

  • Collaborates with internal / external stakeholders to ensure that enhanced insight is fully utilized and embedded into operational activities.

  • Ensures linkages and alignment across all ESM functions, key stakeholders, and strategic partners.

  • Builds and leads high performing teams that deliver exceptional results through coaching, mentoring and matrix management.

  • Selects, develops and supports team in the attainment of business objectives and strategic initiatives.

  • Manages employee performance and facilitates professional development of staff.

  • Identifies training opportunities for staff and support their development efforts.

  • Demonstrates expertise and motivates the team to embrace new, best in class insights tools and approaches that better equip USAA to move fast in a rapidly digitizing business environment.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree

  • 10 or more years of setting marketing/ member insight strategy and leading strategy development within business to consumers industries required.

  • 6 or more years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required.

  • In-depth knowledge of the trends and dynamics driving change in business to consumer businesses.

  • Functional knowledge of marketing research, tools and techniques. Can represent and recommend the team’s capabilities with key internal stakeholders

  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals required.

  • Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.

Salary: The salary range for this position is: $169,880-$305,780.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
