The Opportunity

We are seeking a Quantitative Risk Analyst II to provide critical risk management support to a line of business or staff agency. This role focuses on identifying, measuring, and aggregating key risks while enabling the organization to understand and manage those risks through strong quantitative and analytical practices. The analyst will develop and execute sophisticated quantitative models, assessments, and analytical tools that evaluate market conditions, identify vulnerabilities, and uncover gaps in existing or proposed processes. In addition, the position is responsible for monitoring the risk and control environment to ensure exposures remain within acceptable thresholds and may advise stakeholders on effective risk mitigation strategies. Success in this role requires experience working with complex data sets, applying risk management techniques in practical settings, and using analytical tools such as Snowflake, SQL, SAS, or Tableau. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for translating complex information into clear, actionable insights. U.S. military experience—whether through personal service or as a military spouse or domestic partner—is highly valued and aligns with our commitment to supporting the military community.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: Plano, TX, Or Charlotte, NC

What you'll do:

  • Utilizes analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness.
  • May translate results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
  • Applies maturing knowledge of industry best practices to quantify risk and aggregate exposures.
  • Supports model validation and/or helps produce model validation reports.
  • May help translate recommendations into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and management.
  • Applies maturing knowledge to produce advanced analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
  • Assists with communicating analytical results, findings and solutions to governance committees and business process owners and influences business analysis.
  • May create statistical reporting and financial analysis to forecast results for required stress test scenarios.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline.
  • 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative disciplines.
  • OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $147,390.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
