The Opportunity
As a dedicated Security Operations Center Specialist (Intermediate Level), you will be responsible for monitoring the safety and security of employees, contractors, visitors and facilities worldwide. You’ll use a variety of tools ranging from access control, CCTV, GIS, alarm monitoring to various intelligence sources, internet, communication and in-house tools, to detect, analyze and dispatch/alert Security Officers, appropriate Strategic Partners, and/or external responding authorities/fire/law enforcement regarding any adverse conditions to the enterprise or its employees, contractors and visitors. These incidents may range from intrusion and workplace violence to adverse weather conditions and technical failures. Works under general supervision. Performs basic to moderately complex work assignments and problem resolution across multiple disciplines.
This position can be based in one of the following locations:
San Antonio, TX
Protective Security Operations Center (PSOC) in San Antonio is a 5x8 (7 days a week) team.
Schedules (Will be assigned upon selection for the role):
Days – 0600 - 1400hrs
Mids – 1400 - 2200hrs
Nights – 2200 - 0600hrs
The days off more than likely will be off Tuesday and Wednesday.
Phoenix, AZ
Protective Security Operations Center (PSOC) schedules in Phoenix are 4 days/12 hours.
Schedules (Will be assigned upon selection for the role):
0400 – 1400 from Wednesday – Saturday
2000 – 0600 from Wednesday - Saturday
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Monitors, prioritizes and directs response to enterprise wide security activities from the 24x7x365 Security Operations Center Assists employees, contractors and visitors in all concerns that pertain to safety and security.
Conducts ongoing review of multiple systems and sources to detect potential risks Investigates alarms, dispatches Security Officers, or alerts Fire and/or law Enforcement agencies Logs daily activities and creates Incident Reports Other duties as assigned.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma, or applicable Trade School/Technical Diploma required.
1 or more years of operational experience in a fast-paced Operations Center environment or Emergency Management background.
Possess the ability to liaise with law enforcement and security industry personnel.
What sets you apart:
Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field.
Experience with National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700
Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Certified Public Safety Telecommunicator.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
Excellent multi-tasking and critical thinking skills.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, both intra-team and to across external teams and agencies.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $43,680.00 - $59,980.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
