The Opportunity
As a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior executive leadership, the Lead HR Business Partner (Banking) drives business value through development of long-term talent strategies aligned with business objectives. Leveraging business acumen, data-driven insights, and innovative thinking to solve complex HR and business challenges, this role influences key decisions impacting organizational performance while driving initiatives that result in a high-performing and engaged workforce. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC.

What you'll do:
Develop innovative, agile, proactive, and cost-effective HR strategies in alignment with business objectives and influences senior executive leaders in the delivery of talent solutions.
Provide guidance on talent management, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, change management, culture, or other human resources initiatives.
Accountable for strategic approaches and inputs that inform strategic and operational workforce plans and associated cost of labor.
Proactively partner with business leaders, Finance and Workforce Planning partners to help ensure alignment with cost of labor targets.
Provide trusted advice and coaching to senior executive leaders and serves as a strategic catalyst and change champion.
Partner with HR Center of Excellence (COE) leaders to evaluate and drive HR approaches and processes, influencing improved outcomes in support of changing business needs.
Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
8 or more years of relevant work experience in one or more human resource disciplines, or general business consulting/analysis or business management experience, to include 4 or more years’ experience in leading cross-functional teams or projects requiring strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to assess and make decisions of a complex nature that aligns to the Association and/or line of business (LOB) objectives
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels within the assigned functions and/or cross-functionally
Subject-matter-expert knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
What sets you apart:
5+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry specifically supporting consumer banking/lending, digital, marketing, and/or product organizations
5+ years of experience supporting and influencing executive leadership
Demonstrated critical thinking ability and learning agility
Strength in driving future of work talent strategies and effective change management
Experience mitigating human capital risks with associated remediation strategies
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $143,320 - $273,930.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
