The Opportunity
As a dedicated AVP, Agency Product and Operations, you will oversee the direction, strategy, and management of large teams with a focus on driving sales and growth of specialty insurance solutions within the USAA Agency to align to member needs. Responsible for P&L within their product portfolio and will consistently optimize for team performance and member experience. Provides leadership to subordinate management team who serve as a coach, and mentor a large team of Agency insurance solutions staff. The leader will establish high functioning relationships and manage external carriers and vendors the delivery of insurance solutions customers. Leads a team to successfully deliver Insurance product growth and successfully achieve assigned profit plan targets.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you'll do:
Directs and monitors operational activities as well as the growth and sales specific to agency products. Oversees, manages, and expands an existing book of business while influencing strategy and guiding team alignment.
Provides guidance and oversight to influence marketing strategies. Provides executive peer communications with the Alliances and internal customers Works closely with and influences Marketing, Reporting and Data Analytics.
Holds responsibility for team’s compliance and risk management.
Develops, nurtures and manages workforce talent to ensure continued business improvement and growth.
Drives continuous improvement in high-performance team standards while leading a team to manage current products through the product lifecycle. They will have responsibility for reporting operations metrics and product growth metrics to P&C, personal, and commercial line product owners and senior officers.
Develops, recommends, and implements business strategy and objectives through effective management of resources and maximizes the positive impact of information and technology on business operations and customer service delivery.
Leads prioritization and strategy over their managed portfolio of products and assist in delivering oversight and influence in Agency system modernization and data strategies.
Maintains awareness of national developments and industry trends that may affect the competitiveness, quality and/or profitability of products and services.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
10 years of progressive insurance or financial services related experience developing strategies, managing major initiatives, and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
6 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
Demonstrated successes driving distribution and service strategies to include transformation in areas such as sales, systems, processes, culture, and conversion to producer model.
Leadership experience in developing distribution strategies in the insurance, financial services or agency channel.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the insurance regulatory environment, regulatory requirements, and other supervisory engagement and processes.
Advanced facilitation, collaboration and consensus building skills, with extensive experience in presenting to cross-functional teams and Senior/Executive leaders.
What sets you apart:
Recent experience leading large contact center teams within P&C Distribution & Service, with a heavy focus on sales and complex product distribution
Proven track record of successfully leading, developing, and translating sales/service strategy into results-oriented acquisition, growth, and retention tactics across multiple channels.
Experience optimizing performance and driving team engagement in contact center and evolving Centers of excellence
Industry knowledge and background
Experience in digital distribution.
Deep understanding of call center metrics.
Financial Acumen and P&L experience.
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
Salary: The salary range for this position is: $195,230-$351,410.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
