The Opportunity
As a dedicated Pricing Analyst III on a P&C Auto Pricing team, you will be an entry-level pricing analyst responsible for supporting the actuarial team through data extraction and validation, system functionality oversight and integration, and/or execution of defined actuarial processes and system improvements. Under direct supervision, performs routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members. This role provides technical and analytical support for pricing projects and auto rate filings, requiring the ability to compile data, validate reports, and identify issues for escalation, while also ensuring compliance with risk management protocols.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Utilize actuarial tools for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.
- Perform pricing research and prepares and validates reports to support team.
- Execute queries, perform initial validation, compiles data, and provide technical and analytical support for studies, projects, or reviews.
- Use pre-defined metrics to test pricing assumptions and execute rate changes that improve rate adequacy and/or simple segmentation in a state.
- Support implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency.
- Seek guidance from team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate issues for escalation.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Up to 2 years of finance, insurance, or other relevant analytic experience.
- Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Foundational knowledge of relevant data analysis and extraction tools.
What sets you apart:
- Knowledge and experience with Excel and at least one programming language or modeling software package (Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience aggregating and analyzing data to solve problems
- Experience with problem-solving, innovation, and process improvement
- Ability to effectively communicate insights and solutions to broad audiences including actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders
- Personal lines experience
- Familiarity and experience with industry pricing software such as Earnix
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $51,370.00 - $92,060.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
