The Opportunity
As a dedicated Asset Liability Management Analyst I, you will perform financial and analytical activities, including periodic reporting on Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Financial Risk metrics for USAA at the Enterprise level or Bank level. Applies general knowledge of banking and fixed income products and related risk measures, particularly ALM, financial risk, optionality, prepayment, funds transfer pricing, and return on capital, and translates this knowledge into effective reporting that provides management with sufficient information to handle the company's risk exposure. Independently assesses and appropriately communicates changes in regulatory proposals affecting ALM practices and rules and will play a critical role in leading and performing ALM functions, and in achieving and maintaining interest rate risk compliance.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX.

What you'll do:
- Measures, monitors, and controls interest rate exposures at the enterprise and/or divisional level.
- Serves as a catalyst in the design, implementation, and management of USAA's Interest Rate Risk program, including related analysis, management, planning and reporting.
- Represents ALM Team in collaboration with others, including Line of Business Interest Rate Risk Managers, Senior Financial Officers, Financial Planning & Analysis, External Reporting, Controllers, Project Management, and Risk Management in various discussions to include economic drivers and interest rate risks.
- Develops and leads analytical models to explain the change in values of assets and liabilities. Communicates' findings and makes recommendations to internal leadership for possible action.
- Provides attribution and sensitivity analyses for all inputs and assumptions that may drive gains or losses.
- Ensures all assumptions and inputs for interest rate risk modeling are consistently applied across the enterprise.
- Performs model governance activities consistent with standard processes and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field required; OR 4 additional years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required (8 years total experience) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 4 years proven ability in a corporate treasury, investment or finance, OR an advanced degree or CFA and 2 years’ experience in a corporate treasury, investment or finance.
- Proficient mathematical skills and working knowledge as they relate to modeling and valuation of fixed income instruments and/or derivatives.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements that may include OCC, FDIC, NAIC, Basel III, ORSA and the Federal Reserve's regulations.
What sets you apart:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and writing SQL queries.
- Experience with Asset Liability Management and Funds Transfer Pricing.
- ALM assumption documentation, back testing and sensitivity testing.
- Knowledge of loans, deposits, fixed income, and other treasury products.
- Knowledge of with Bancware ALM and/or Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) is a plus.
- Experience working with a financial institution with data analytics.
- Experience with risk management, regulatory governance, and business controls.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450.00 - $197,730.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
