The Opportunity
Our dedicated Internal Audit Learning Performance Consultant Lead provides thought leadership and solutions to align with USAA's professional development strategy and operational plan. Leads the implementation and sustainment of USAA's professional development programs and initiatives. Serves as an internal strategic learning consultant to enhance the performance of employees through the identification and facilitation of training solutions. Collaborates with all levels of USAA management and internal partners to assess business or employee issues related to learning opportunities. Manages multiple large-scale initiatives.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Anticipates future enterprise learning and performance/development requirements to support changing business needs.
Ensures alignment of learning programs with enterprise to meet business needs.
Synthesizes business needs, strategy, and department capabilities into learning solutions that address future challenges.
Coaches and mentors peers and cross functional team members to achieve business results.
Leads the planning, design, development, implementation, communication, and evaluation of complex learning and development programs and/or experiences.
Partners with internal and external individuals to assess business issues and develop executable strategies to address learning program needs and/or drive the development of new programs and activities.
Assembles key participants and leads cross functional teams in the strategy development and implementation of learning solutions driving business results.
Establishes strategic partnerships with outside vendors and consultants to incorporate industry best practices, trends, processes, and products and services into current learning and development strategies.
Leverages human centered design principles to define learning experiences aligned to learner needs.
Collaborates with internal business partners to validate that curriculum solutions align to business priorities and strategy for operational effectiveness, and applies understanding of the business, its products and processes to reshape content for changing needs.
Curates and organizes course content to produce engaging, informative, and visually compelling complex and diverse programs on appropriate delivery modalities to meet the learning needs of the business.
Manages and engages third party vendor relationships to provide learning solutions to specific communities.
Develops tools and processes to measure effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements.
Continuously evaluates and improves the learning and development programs and processes to support USAA's evolving business.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
8 years of experience in conducting needs assessment, designing, implementing, and managing learning and development programs for a diverse client group.
6 years of project/program development and management experience.
Proven ability to implement blended, innovative learning solutions and manage training from beginning to end including assessment, design, development, implement and delivery, coordination, and evaluation.
Experience creating learning solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment with a focus on iterative, continuous improvement using business feedback, and lifecycle planning for learning programs.
Experience in consulting, influencing and communicating at an executive level.
Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to advance team, organization and enterprise goals and objectives.
Expert level experience proposing solutions that educate the workforce and minimize risk and maximize quality and sustainment.
Experience with digital learning technologies, adult learning theories and/or instructional design approaches.
What sets you apart:
Proven experience in learning and development programs; experience in an audit or financial services environment a plus
Ability to design and implement effective training programs.
Knowledge of internal audit practices and methodologies and related learning strategies
Experience working at large, complex financial institutions.
Understanding of financial institutions regulatory landscape.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450 - $197,730.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
