The Opportunity

As a dedicated Director - Finance, supporting the Everyday Banking organization (EDB) you will be accountable for leading the Finance team forecasting USAA’s Card & Deposits portfolios, EDB’s organizational expense plan, Bank marketing investments and strategic product analytics. Role involves deep & extensive engagement with Bank, Risk, Accounting and IT partners to deliver financial insights and drive accountability.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, and Charlotte. This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

• Develops finance team strategy to achieve business goals and objectives.
• Promotes the development of effective team relationships and functions in various capacities as required to ensure the success of team efforts.
• Frequently interacts with senior management and peers on finance and accounting matters requiring internal or cross company coordination.
• Serves as a consultant to senior leadership in long-range planning and influences business decision making.
• Consistently interacts with senior leadership as a trusted advisor on financial issues.
• Makes recommendations to solve short-term decisions, as well as strategic financial business problems.
• Assists in developing the financial strategy for supported operating companies.
• Identifies problems and critical issues impacting financial operations and implements appropriate responses to meet business challenges. Maintains familiarity with financial oversight and controls in a highly regulated environment.
• Leads the development, coordination, and facilitation of identifying and communicating business technology requirements.
• Assumes leadership responsibility on select projects.
• Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field is required; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required, (12 years total without degree) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 8 years of treasury and/or finance operations experience in the financial services industry, OR advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics and 6 years of treasury and/or finance operations experience in the financial services industry.
• Subject matter authority on the principles and theories of treasury or finance operations, finance, accounting and/or other related financial business fields and subject areas.
• Knowledge and experience with functionalities of corporate financial or tax systems.
• 3 years direct team lead or management experience required to include shown ability to develop talent, handle workflow and project execution, foster open communication, and lead and improve processes.
• Experience successfully communicating and influencing finance/treasury operations matters with leadership.
• Ability to effective work with internal and external partners.

• Deep experience supporting Financial Planning & Analysis in a Consumer Bank (Credit Card, Consumer Lending, Deposits).
• Demonstrated experience partnering and influencing senior business leaders to drive positive financial outcomes.
• Ability to lead colleagues and influence senior leaders to drive decisions & outcomes at the department, product & Bank levels.
• Prior experience engaging, developing and retaining high-impact talent.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,31.00 - $243,340.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
