AVP, Marketing & Business Data Analytics Exec
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, Colorado Springs, Tampa, Phoenix, Plano or Charlotte.

Summary: Responsible for leading the development and use of advanced analytics across marketing, distribution, and service to accelerate growth for the P&C insurance business. This executive builds and delivers the data and analytics strategies and insights that drive marketing investment efficiency, acquisition performance, member experience , and retention. The role ensures analytical solutions are accurate, compliant, and designed to improve business performance while managing risk. Success requires a strong track record of turning data into measurable business results and partnering with leaders including Marketing, Distribution, Service, and Product to enable fact‑based decisioning.
Preferred Requirements:
Progressive experience in marketing, sales, and service analytics within a regulated industry, ideally insurance or financial services.
Demonstrated success using data and insights to materially improve acquisition performance, sales conversion, and service effectiveness.
Hands on expertise with multi‑touch marketing attribution, funnel analytics, marketing channel performance measurement ecosystems, and other methods to optimize marketing investments.
Proven ability to lead major cross‑functional analytics initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
Strong background in omni‑channel data enablement.
Working knowledge of data governance, data quality, responsible data innovation, and operationalizing analytics in a compliant environment.
Understanding of P&C insurance operations, including state‑level regulatory and pricing dynamics that influence marketing, sales, and service strategies.
Experience applying data science techniques including machine learning, predictive modeling, data mining to improve targeting, conversion, and service efficiency.
Comprehensive knowledge of data integrity, privacy, and relevant risk and compliance frameworks for consumer data.
Strong leadership presence with a track record of building high‑performing analytics teams and influencing executive‑level decisions through clear, actionable insights.
Tasks:
Accountable for strategic, tactical, operational, and financial responsibilities associated with CoSA data storage, data preparation, data exploration, information governance, analytics, and information delivery.
Accountable for defining and developing business data & analytics strategy to enable achievement of business goals and objectives.
Collaborate with company and staff agency data and analytics leaders to identify and deliver actionable insights and products to further USAA’s business strategy.
Provide data & analytics products using Agile methodologies to enable fact based, enterprise decisions that drive the achievement of USAA’s mission and goals.
May be assigned by the Chief Data & Analytics Officer, to chair high-level cross-business teams to identify strategy synergies and translating these insights into actionable, compliant deployments.
Provide strategic direction and thought leadership to the Data and Analytics Community across USAA.
Keep current of industry leading practices and advances in across all data & analytics sub-functions as well as the business associated with the assigned CoSA.
Fosters analytical innovation and promote the importance of data literacy through sharing of analytics knowledge and best practices.
Responsible for educating, overseeing and monitoring CoSA adherence with Information Governance policy and standards.
Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering or other quantitative field (e.g. finance or a social/behavioral science); OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Minimum Experience:
10+ years progressive experience leveraging data and analytics to drive results in a complex financial services organization.
6+ years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
Executive-level business acumen in the areas of measuring business outcomes, business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
Experience leading matrixed teams using Agile methodologies.
Experience building data and analytic teams and capabilities to support business decision making.
Proven ability to tell a story through data and communicate problem, impact and recommendations effectively with senior leadership.
Expert ability to consult and advise business leaders on development of OKRs, KPIs and KRIs as well as appropriate data and analytic solutions to address business needs.
Experience with large complex database systems & architecture, structured & unstructured data; with diverse analytics methodologies and approaches.
Deep understanding of industry best practices and advancements in data and analytics.
Deep understanding of risk management and compliance practices with experience developing data strategies that mitigate risk.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $224,250 - $403,650.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
