My first role was all about learning the ropes and getting my hands into the details of IT operations.
I started leading initiatives, making sure projects delivered real value for our teams and members.
This role gave me the chance to mentor others and manage technical teams directly.
Today, I focus on strategy, leadership, and supporting the growth of both people and solutions.
Q: Can you walk us through a typical day?
A: “No two days are ever the same, which keeps things exciting! My day might involve anything from collaborating with my team on a new solution, to diving deep into an operational challenge, to mentoring a colleague.”
Q: Why did you choose USAA?
A: “USAA was my top choice coming out of college. I kept hearing about the great reputation from people in my network, and my initial conversations with the IT managers sealed the deal. They really set the hook for me and USAA has delivered ever since.”
Q: What moment made you most proud?
A: “Nothing beats seeing someone I’ve mentored succeed. A couple of junior engineers I worked with are now directors leading their own teams. Knowing I played a part in their journey is incredibly fulfilling.”
Q: What skills have you developed at USAA?
A: “USAA has been my training ground for leadership. I’ve learned how to manage complex projects, build relationships, empathize with my team, think strategically, and communicate effectively.”
