BUILDING STRONG COMMUNITIES
USAA employees are dedicated to serving our members, as well as our communities – giving back in ways that provide essential services for families in need, help students succeed, and serve military and veterans groups.
In 2014, more than 7,700 employees, their families and retiree volunteers reported 409,900 combined hours of volunteering. Our volunteers provided meals to wounded warriors, assisted at food banks and served as mentors, pen pals and readers to more than 5,800 students from 26 schools.
During our 2014 United Way Campaign, more than 95 percent of USAA employees pledged a record-breaking average of $377. With additional funds from USAA retirees and The USAA Foundation, total United Way contributions reached $13.2 million. In 2014, USAA, the USAA Federal Savings Bank and The USAA Foundation contributed more than $12.7 million in total to nonprofit organizations.
