USAA is an excellent place to begin your career. Many of our interns join us upon graduation and we also look for talented graduates who are seeking a stable, innovative and growing organization that values their knowledge and is ready to offer immediate challenge. Whatever your discipline, we welcome new ideas and our team is always ready to help you succeed. Because we are so large and diverse, you’ll also find many paths to follow and ways to grow.
Orientation and training
As a new employee, you’ll go through an extensive three-day orientation on benefits and USAA culture before joining your specific area. Then, your manager will put together a customized training program based on your background and knowledge, as well as the requirements of the role. In addition, you will be assigned a formal manager and mentor. After 90 days, you can take advantage of our education assistance program to attain certain certifications or pursue a master’s degree or MBA at night.
Financial Development and MBA Career Development Programs
These two- to three-year rotational programs for new graduates offer 12- to 18-month rotations in different areas. The goal is to create more well-rounded individuals and give them a breadth of experiences. The Financial Development Program offers graduates with degrees in finance and accounting exposure to our financial organization. The MBA Career Development Program focuses on rotations in areas such as marketing, analytics, digital, operations, strategy and process engineering.
Cohort Program for Claims
Another unique program for new graduates is our Cohort Program for Claims. The goal is to bring together individuals from a specific university within a training class, so they can leverage their shared experiences and learn as a group. We’ve provided cohort training with graduates from The University of Texas at San Antonio and The University of South Florida.
