The Opportunity
As a Business Applications Analyst Senior, you will provide advanced analytical, business, and technical support for strategic business functions, processes, and applications/IT platforms. This role leads and participates in initiatives supporting business analysis and decision-making, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of application solutions that address organizational needs. The Business Applications Analyst Senior also identifies and recommends improvements to business processes to optimize alignment with business requirements.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Advise customers on application/IT platform and technology solutions by leveraging in-depth knowledge of business processes, applications, and strategic direction to identify, research, and analyze options considering current and future business needs and opportunities.
- Collaborate and exchange information with team members, partners, and internal customers to ensure dependencies, risks, and opportunities are identified and addressed.
- Research complex business issues requiring advanced knowledge of business principles and theories.
- Collaborate in the analysis of application/IT platforms and data systems to define and document detailed business requirements and guide the development of testing requirements for new and modified systems, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead and contribute to the creation and delivery of standards, policies, and end-user documentation for application/IT platforms. Participate in establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for system processes and applications.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Mentor team members and may provide input on performance and development plans.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 6 years of work experience in analyzing IT business processes, software application/IT platform design and/or IT documentation, with an understanding of application/IT platform data systems and operations processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of application/IT platform support and the software development life cycle, to include testing execution.
- Experience in developing and maintaining documentation related to workflows and business requirements, as well as technical functionality of IT applications/IT platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of risk and controls frameworks. Demonstrated experience in proactively identifying, assessing, and remediating control gaps. Must be able to effectively document controls and develop/execute robust testing procedures to ensure ongoing control effectiveness.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
What sets you apart:
- 2+ years of strong business acumen in financial services or a related industry, with direct experience in a high-volume Core Banking transaction processing production environment.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Fidelity (FIS) Systematics Applications, specifically Advance Loan Systems (ALS), IMPACS (IM), Relationship Manager (RM), Savings Time (ST), General Architecture (GN), or Certification Tracking (HX). Alternatively, equivalent experience with research and production support for other core banking systems will be considered.
- Uses data analysis techniques, including SQL and business intelligence tools, to develop insights that drive business decisions and influence solution strategies. Employs a strategic, data-driven approach to identify trends and anomalies and solve business problems
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of compliance with FDIC Part 370 regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations impacting financial institutions, including but not limited to: UDAAP/UDAP, Regulation CC, Regulation E (EFTA), TILA/REG Z, and Regulation B (ECOA).
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770 - $179,240.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
