Purpose of Job

We are currently seeking a Director Product Owner – Credit Card Marketing Planning and Strategy for San Antonio Home Office, Tampa Campus, Tampa Crosstown, Phoenix Campus, Colorado Springs Campus, Chesapeake, Plano Legacy, or Remote Work Location Available.

As part of the Retail Bank organization, the Credit Card Experiences team manages a sizeable portfolio of credit cards and manages our products, originations, servicing, and marketing. This role will lead a team that will drive marketing strategies for Card from consideration through acquisition, early tenure treatment, existing customer treatments, and retention. The role will work across the organization to deliver annual marketing plan, identify key metrics and goals, define best-in-class and next generation marketing strategies and capabilities, and execute campaigns and tactics to transform member engagement with our products. From building actionable goals and metrics, to defining best-in-class marketing experiences, to delivering marketing campaigns and strategies, the role will driving business results and delivers on our intent – to be our members’ card of choice because we deliver the best value and experience.

Leveraging prior experience, the leader will also be familiar with how to identify and manage process risks to drive improvements and oversight that ensures compliant delivery of our marketing. In addition, the role will provide features and requirements to drive investment in new marketing capabilities as a part of a multi-year investment in offer and marketing capabilities.

Manages a team of individual contributors responsible for the maintenance of existing products and/or the development and launch of new products. Works collaboratively across Marketing, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Operations and the Distribution Sales and Services groups to develop industry-leading products.

  • Communicates the product value proposition to Distribution organization.
  • Ensures product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is properly positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).
  • Generates innovation and solutions for customer needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.
  • Develops and launches new product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.
  • Analyzes and evaluates product performance metrics to form recommendations regarding market opportunities and product enhancements.
  • Leverages resources to gather data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and acquire competitive intelligence.

Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 8 or more years relevant industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, or Operations or 4 or more years direct product management experience.
  • 3 or more years of direct team lead or management experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline.
  • 8 years of Credit Card experience within a medium to large regional or national financial institution
  • Thought leadership – understanding strategy/vision to execution and delivering business value through credit card lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations (e.g. Reg Z, UDAAP) for the payment card industry and solid understanding of credit card financials including factors that impact results.
  • Experience developing and delivering an annual plan and multi-year roadmaps for our marketing optimizing investments to deliver engagement and ROI.
  • Familiar with partnering to ensure campaign reporting and tracking prove the effectiveness of the strategies and investments made in marketing.
  • Knowledge with Omni-Channel Sales execution through traditional and emerging marketing channels such as 3rd Party Aggregators, social, paid search, influencers and more.
  • Experience evaluating and shaping customer/member experience through marketing.
  • Experienced ability to drive sales results and deliver through direct and cross functional indirect reports.
