Primary Responsibilities:
Ensures adherence to written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
Acquires and applies expert knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
Directs analyses, root cause identification, and development and recommendation of key work products to mitigate associated risk or leverage potential business advantages.
Accountable for achieving business objectives and results; provides guidance to cross-functional team members to ensure goal achievement and team success.
Recognizes and leads the development and implementation of appropriate credit risk strategies.
Serves as a subject matter expert for product segmentation and credit loss activities.
Develops detailed analysis, utilizing sophisticated analytical and financial modeling and statistical techniques to predict, evaluate and manage the credit risk across various loan portfolios according to operational risk and compliance standards.
Assesses lending product/portfolio performance specific to credit loss and financial elements.
Engages with bank leaders to ensure that credit risk policies are aligned with the continually changing credit environment and maintains dialogue with other stakeholders such as Risk and Compliance.
Maintains knowledge of regulatory environment and ensures compliance. Manages risk issues and provides strategies for mitigation to minimize business impact.
Provides coaching and guidance to less experienced team member while ensuring alignment to the organizational strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree OR
4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
8 or more years credit risk experience in the financial services industry.
Proven success in developing and communicating strategy and translating that strategy into tactics.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in developing Deposit Origination and Deposit Limits risk strategies and rules
Experience with variable analysis and risk segmentation techniques
Experience working with transactional level data for Deposit products or Credit Card
Experience with SAS, Tableau, R, Python and/or other programming/reporting tools
Experience communicating and presenting complex concepts to executive leadership

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $106,800-192,300 *( this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location)
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
*Geographical Differential:
Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium: will be addressed on an individual-basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
