Purpose of Job

Participates in gathering and analyzing of internal business requirements by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions with users. Translates users' business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation. Applies methodologies, prepares detailed specifications and related documentation. Identifies and communicates risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications. Participates in managing the scope of applications and related changes. Collaborates with stakeholders on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirements. Assists software quality assurance with functional test case reviews. Assists with creating training materials and may assist with user orientation and training.
We are currently seeking a talented Business Rules Analyst II for the San Antonio Home Office.

Job Requirements


  • Assists in the development of solutions and recommendations for business requirements, business rules, product offerings or changes to existing systems/applications.
  • Works with internal and external resources to define business requirements and coordinate system enhancements.
  • Participates in feasibility, enterprise impact, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Executes recurring, scheduled, or ad-hoc system changes within change control methodologies.
  • Completes testing, implementation and communication plans for new or modified system parameters, options, product details, or system outputs.
  • Performs post implementation testing, monitoring, and reporting to ensure functionality.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of LOB, CoSA, and Enterprise systems, processes, procedures, and products.
  • Reviews applicable system updates for functionality impacts or enhancements and coordinates changes.
  • Conducts overall periodic review and testing of system parameters, options, product details, or system output to ensure accurate output and compliance with regulatory and/or audit guidelines.
  • Maintains status and reports for all completed, on-going or future initiatives.
  • Completes all documentation and retention processes and procedures.
  • Participates in special projects/reports.


  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Science discipline required.4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Or Master's degree in a Business or Science discipline or a related discipline or PhD in a Business or Science discipline or a related discipline.
  • If Bachelor's degree,2 or more years experience in data management, data quality or business application function  or If Master's degree,up to 2 years experience in a data management, data quality or business application functionORIf PhD,0 years experience in a data management, data quality or business application function.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 2+  years experience working in systems such as SAS, Tableau, SQL.
  • 2+ years experience working with EFM fraud platforms such as ECAMS/Actimize, Bridger, Falcon, FICO Dialer
  • 1+ years experience compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data to make strategic and tactical recommendations to business partners
  • Ability to rapidly absorb and synthesize written and oral information to form an accurate understanding of context and issues across a range of strategic, operational and organizational issues.
  • 1+ years experience utilizing data manipulation and spreadsheet capabilities to assist in identifying loss trends and mitigation opportunities
