Purpose of Job

"We are currently seeking a talented Compliance Risk Manager Lead for our Phoenix, AZ, San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Tampa, FL, Colorado Springs, CO or Remote locations.

Leads cross-functional team members and provides second-line independent oversight to drive enforcement of complaint management requirements and minimize operational compliance risk. Independently designs and implements policies, standards and supervision frameworks to ensure Enterprise Complaint Management Program operations are compliant with federal and state regulatory requirements. In partnership with the business and key stakeholders, continuously drives a strong culture of compliance and demonstrates integrity and professional judgment in protecting the interests of USAA and its members."

About the Team:

The Compliance Risk Manager Lead will support the Director with the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of tactical and strategic solutions that drive enforcement of complaint management lifecycle components defined in policies and standards.  In addition, the Lead will provide subject matter expertise for compliance regulations and direct the business to drive operationalization of complaint management requirements in a member-centric, sustainable and compliant manner. 

This team will collaborate with business, compliance, and control partners to strategize, plan and implement supervision frameworks.  Supervision frameworks will leverage data and analytics to monitor Program health and integrate with USAA’s compliance management system to effectively identify, measure, mitigate, control, and report risk.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Experience:

  • 8 or more years of risk, compliance, or audit experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant industry regulations and regulatory compliance in a specific area.
  • Advanced knowledge of compliance laws, regulations and regulatory expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance to consult and provide insight and guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of a complaint management operational, compliance, or risk management framework in a large financial institution.
  • 8+ years of compliance or risk management experience that includes the implementation of complex initiatives and development of policies, procedures and monitoring routines.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and synthesizing data to drive insights and identify regulatory, operational, or emerging risks.
  • CRCM certification.
  • Experience interacting with auditors and regulators.
